Nationwide Class Action Settlement
Our team worked on behalf of corn farm farmers spread across the grain belt for the depressed corn prices from Sept 15th, 2013 through harvest years of 2018. The case involved genetically modified corn seed. Syngenta prematurely introduced a specific genetically modified corn seed trait without export approval. When the United States started exporting the new corn seed, our exporting partners rejected it because pre-approval had not been obtained.
We represented nearly a thousand farmers to ensure they received proper compensation for the falling corn prices. We held nearly fifty town hall meetings to properly inform corn farmers of their rights against Syngenta. Moreover, many of our farmers were selected as bellwether or class representatives in the case. When talking about the work that was done on the Syngenta case, Adam Krause said “our clients ensure the stability, welfare and food consumption for the entire United States and they were simply taken advantage of by a greedy company. Hopefully, this will teach large chemical companies a lesson on how not to do business here in the United States.”
